On paper it should have been a formality for the Division 3 South West team but CRCC tore up the script and comprehenisvly defeated the Swansea based team dominating every facet of play.

In an error strewn fist half Clwb Rygbi built up a 10-5 lead through a Mark Beynon try which was converted by outside half Dafydd Williams. Centre Rhodri Scott increased the lead with a well taken drop goal. Fardre responded by scoring a cleverly worked push over in one of their few visits into Clwb Rygbi territory.

The scond half saw the Clwb Rygbi pack tear into their Vardre counterparts and dominate posession. The resulting pressure saw wing Pablo Macamphill  for a simple try.This score led to the flood gates opening for Clwb Rygbi and No.8 Dan Williams, prop and skipper Geraint Morgan, and Mark Beynon (again)  all scored tries one of which was converted by Dafydd Williams who also landed a penalty to build up an unasiable lead.

Clwb Rygbi began their league fixtures with a comfortable victory away at Sully Sports.

Good work from the forwards brought a couple of early tries through the forwards before the back-line really settled. The final fifty minutes however saw some great interplay and several excellent tries.

A very positive start to build on and with lots of players returning to compete for their positions over the coming weeks we can be confident of developing a very competitive side this year.
