Clwb vs Tyllgoed/Fairwater
Gwahodd Tyllgoed i Bontcanna wnaethom ni ar Sadwrn ola'r mis, ar gyfer ein gêm gartref cyntaf o'r tymor. Roedd y gwrthwynebwyr wedi cael dechrau da i'r tymor, ac ro'n nhw ar frîg y tabl, heb golli'r un gêm hyd yma. Roedd hi'n hawdd gweld pam, wrth iddynt chwarae gêm bwerus, yn chwarae at eu cryfderau. Y gwrthwynebwyr ddechreuodd cryfa, gan sgorio dwy gic cosb gynnar, cyn i Pablo Rodriguez trosi cic cosb i'r Clwb, i hanneri'r bwlch.
Ond y Tyllgoed sgoriodd pwyntiau ola'r hanner cyntaf, ac wrth droi, roedden ni 13-3 ar ei hôl hi. Roedd y bois ar y droed ôl ar ddechrau'r ail hanner, cyn i wrth-ymosodiad arwain at gais i Alun Evans i ddod â ni reit nôl i'r gêm. Gyda throsiad llwyddianus Pablo, roedd hi'n 13-10
Ond hwnnw oedd ein cyfle ni, a chododd y Tyllgoed ei gêm, a sgorio dau gais sydyn i ddod â'n gobeithion o fuddugoliaeth i ben. Er inni ddal at y dasg, gydag Alex Price yn croesi dan y pyst, colli oedd yr hanes, â'r Tyllgoed yn cadw eu record di-guro o 25-17.
The final Saturday of the month saw us welcome Fairwater to Pontcanna for our first home game of the season. The visitors had enjoyed a strong start to the season, sitting at the top of the table and unbeaten to date. It was easy to see why, as they played a powerful game, playing to their strengths. It was Fairwater who started the better, scoring two early penalties, before Pablo Rodriguez converted a penalty to halve the deficit.
But it would be Fairwater who'd score the final points of the half, scoring the game's first try, and we trailed 13-3 at the interval. Clwb found themselves on the back foot at the start of the second half, until a counter-attack, and patient build-up play led to a try for Alun Evans, putting us right back in the game. Pablo's successful conversion made it 13-10.
But that was our chance, and Fairwater were able to raise their game again, and knocked us back with two quick tries, putting paid to our hopes of victory. The boys stuck to their task, and earned a late try for Alex Price beneath the posts, but the visitors maintained their unbeaten record by 25-17
