Dydd Sul diwethaf daeth dros 20 o blant y tîm dan 7 ynghŷd i ddechrau tymor newydd o rygbi gan deithio oddi cartref ar hyd yr M4 i wynebu Pontyclun.

Ar ôl penbleth yn ceisio dod o hyd i’r cae rygbi derbyniom groeso gwresog gan rieni a hyfforddwyr y clwb. Roedd chwaraewyr ifanc y ddau dîm yn frwd ac wrth eu bodd ac roedd hyn yn amlwg wrth wylio safon y chwarae. Sgoriwyd nifer o geisiau ardderchog ac roedd y gemau’n llifo’n rhwydd. Ar nodyn personol, uchafbwynt oedd gweld brwdfrydedd heintus y plant wrth i nifer ohonynt neidio ar draws y cae wrth geisio tynnu tagiau’r gwrthwynebwyr.

Mae’n diolch yn enfawr i hyfforddwyr Pontyclun am ddyfarnu’r gemau’n deg ac am eu hannogaeth i’r plant. Ar ôl y chwarae doedd dim ond un peth amdani-llenwi boliau a mwynhau ‘hot dog’ yn y clwb!

Ar ran yr hyfforddwyr, hoffwn ddiolch yn fawr i’r plant a’r rhieni am eu hymdrechion ac am sicrhau fod gêm gynta’r tymor yn un pleserus a hwyliog.

This Sunday saw the start of the new rugby season, with over 20 children from the under 7’s making the short trip down the M4 to Pontyclun.

After some slight confusion over locations and a quick tour of Pontyclun (nothing to do with me i promise) we were warmly greeted by the Pontyclun coaches and parents.

With Pontyclun also having a great turnout of eager players we quickly got going into the games. It was amazing and to be honest quite surprising to see how good the standard of play was from both sides. Some absolutely great tries were scored and the games flowed really well. On a personal note, the thing that stood out most for me was the enthusiasm the children showed to every part of the game, a personal highlight was watching players literally diving through the air to try and make a tag. A massive thank you must be given to the Pontyclun coaches who refereed the games brilliantly and were very encouraging of all the children on the pitch.

After the post game debrief and analysis session, thoughts turned to post match nutrition and the children made their way to the clubhouse for a well earned hot dog!

On behalf of the coaches I would like to say a massive thank you to the children and parents for their efforts and for making our first competitive match such a fun and enjoyable experience.
